Nassau City Correctional Facility

Nassau County DPW

Location
Nassau City

The project consisted of designing and building 840 cells and 130,000 square feet of office space. The initial plans were 50% complete from which Sea Crest developed a design concept and working drawings. Sea Crest retained the design team, which included architect, engineer and mechanical designers.

The project included a full electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, HVAC design and installation as well as precast concrete cells with reinforced concrete slabs. The exterior skin of the facility consisted of dryvit. Some of the other items of interest in the project included a 1,000 foot long utility tunnel enabling the existing facility to remain operational while the new facility was constructed. The project was completed on time enabling the Client to occupy the facility after twenty (20) months.

Sea Crest, in association with its affiliated company Peter Scalamandre and Sons, self performed all excavation, concrete foundation, concrete superstructure, and appurtenant site work. This self-performance helped Sea Crest meet the aggressive twenty (20) month project schedule.
