The LIRR Enhanced Station Initiatives #1 Contract #6290 was a Joint Venture with Citnalta Construction.  It was a Design Build Services scope for the Enhanced Station Initiatives.  The project included station architectural, access stair, site, facade, and platform renovations at the following LIRR station locations: Bellmore, Brentwood, Deer Park, East Hampton, Farmingdale, Merrick, Stony Brook, and Syosset.

The project involved modernizing several of LIRR's most heavily used facilities and was recognized for it's innovative designs and construction efforts; being awarded

• 2020 National Recognition Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 
• 2019 Diamond Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York
• 2019 Archi Award for Historic Restoration/ Adaptive Reuse by the Long Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)

The station building enhancements performed on this project included both modern concrete and steel rehabilitation as well as older wood frame structures.  Three stations (East Hampton, Farmingdale and Stoney Brook)  required historical restoration work.  All station buildings received ADA bathroom upgrades, terrazzo flooring, wood ceilings, new or refurnished windows/storefronts new doors with electronic hardware and upgraded electrical systems to support the installation of LED lighting, Wi-fi, charging stations, pedestrian shelter sheds, guardrail fencing, edge tactile and way finding signage.

All eight stations were completed while remaining operational and open to the riding public.
