The Team
Back in 1923, our grandfather, Peter Scalamandre, formed his own construction company. America was still in the horse-and-buggy age. Masons worked at their trade as they had for centuries, but concrete construction as we know it today did not really exist.
When new concrete methods were developed, Peter Scalamandre and his successors were quick to relinquish obsolete construction methods and equipment to give their customers the benefit of better construction at lower cost. As new techniques for building with concrete evolved, the Scalamandre family was alert, ready to learn them thoroughly and apply them. As this concrete company grew, it expanded its horizons by adding new divisions: A general contracting firm (Sea Crest) for construction of major buildings, a road division (Peter Scalamandre & Sons) who build bridges, sewers and drainage, a heavy equipment division (Mill Rental), and a concrete division (Seville Central Corp.), a central mix plant to the public project (Scatt Materials, Asphalt Plant).
Today, with the third Scalamandre generation in management, the companies founded by the Scalamandre family can handle almost any concrete construction project conceived. We possess the equipment, the experience and all the trained manpower to justify our acknowledged standing as full construction leaders.
